I have problem with Terratec DMX Xfire 1024 PCI card when using it in Headphone mode (JP1 1-3,2-4) . I can hear quite loud hum / noise in headphones no matter of volume level or even if card is completely muted. Any ideas how can I solve it?
Hi, I have the same card and the same problem.
The on-board headphone amplifier is useless.
By the way, it doesn't have any effect on the sound card's mode. You have to enable headphone mode in the driver/software from Terratec.
Your best bet would be to disable/bypass the on-board headphone amplifier and use an external one.
Or maybe use headphones with lower impedance (maybe IEMs) to get more volume out of the card.
