Hi All,

This is my first post here 😉 I have got a good, I think at least, offer to buy SC55MK1 for 85euros, which I want to use mainly for Tie Fighter (its one of my favourite old Star Wars games) 😉
I started to read this forum and understood the game music was probably composed on SC55MK2 and there are some missing/cut notes on MK1.

The question I wanted to ask is whether SC55MK1 is a good choice for Tie Fighter or I should find MK2 or SC88?

Thanks a lot, m.

I mean, you answered it already.. if it was composed for mkII then a mkI will give dropouts.

SC-88 is a different sound map and the 55 emulation is inaccurate.

Thanks for the answer 😉 After reading many posts and listening to different sound files recorded from different devices, I have drawn my personal conclusion ... any of those devices (SC55, SC55MK2, 88, Yamaha) will be cool for me! Its just fun and for my musically untrained ear will be perfect retro experience 😉
