I am facing a peculiar problem with a recently procured ymf719 and AK74-EC motherboard combination. First time when I installed this card, windows 98 automatically installed opl3sax wdm drivers. However I wanted to use Vxd drivers. So for several times while installing the opl3-sax drivers, was facing a blue screen. this is despite the onboard audio disabled in bios.
Later noticed that there is a jumper for the onboard audio. Then disabled it. Now was able to install the opl3 drivers.
Now comes the issue. There is absolutely no sound in win 98 even with the ymf719 drivers installed as shown in device manager. Tried several attempts to get the sound working under windows 98, but in vain. However in DOS , I am able to get the music/fm for many games. One problem I Noted was the inability to set the irq properly. I am consistently getting a WSS I/O error when I run the setupsa command under dos.
