Hello all, I was wondering if I could get some advice on a single slot graphics card for my Windows XP 32-bit build.
I'm stuck between two XFX cards, the Radeon HD 4670 1GB and the Radeon HD 6670 2 GB. I'm interested to know what would offer the best performance and compatibility? Both cards seem to be on eBay for reasonable prices right now, under £60. I'll confess I'm not as familar with older hardware and my build is more aimed at enjoying some older games that don't work on newer stuff - although I'm not interested in keeping it completely in period. I specfically would like a single slot card to free up one of the PCIE x1 slots on it so I can experiment with it.
I have a GT 710 right now and while it works for some games great (Soul Reaver 2, Outrun 2006, Sega Rally Revo), it doesn't run others so well (Midtown Madness 2, Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf, etc). I think going with an older card might help. Also curious to know if it could maybe run Crysis? (not a deal breaker)
For context my XP 32-bit build is:
Motherboard - ASUS P8H61-M LE R2.0
CPU - Intel i3-3250 3.5GHz
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 1600MHz
Hard Drive - Seagate Firecuda 1TB SSHD
Sound Card - Sound Blaster Live
And a PCIE x1 Firewire card for working with my miniDV camcorders!
