Hi all,
I found an old 286 motherboard that doesn't have any markings that specify model or make, featuring a 10MHz Siemens processor and 1MB RAM (DIP chips but it also has unpopulated SIPP sockets).
The seller claimed that the board is fully functional so I got it but I don't have any ISA graphics card at hand right now and I can't proceed any further.
I have plenty of ISA sound cards and I already ordered a PCB for a CF to ISA open source project so I intend to use that as a drive.
So the only missing pieces are a graphics card and I guess some kind of I/0 card.
The I/0 should be easier to find and I think they are some open hardware solutions as well.
From a quick check I found out that not all ISA cards play well with 286 builds so I seek for advice on what might be a suitable card for it.
Intended use would be testing out various software and games of that era and target display would probably be a LCD VGA display as I don't have any VGA CRT monitors anymore.
Since this won't be a permanent build cause I don't have any AT cases I wouldn't mind if the card would be compatible with later machines as well but that's not an absolute requirement.
