For years I have a pair of these VR Shutterglasses lying around along with the corresponding Asus GF2 grapics card but had no suitable monitor to give it a try.
But last week I had been lucky to get a NOS CRT Monitor for small money and I would like to set up a y2k VR experiance.
... and probably get nausea 😉
As Rig I intentd to use my y2k Pentium 4 (see here).
The "VR" Hardware is:
- AGP-graphics: Asus 7700 Deluxe TVR, 32MB DDR, NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS
- 3D-Shutter glasses: Asus VT-100G Deluxe (Kabellänge ca. 2m)
- CRT Display: 17" ViewSonic E70fSB (supports the neccessary 133 Hz at 640x480)
Before I start I've got some questions
- Anyone with experiance concernig such a setup?
- Any recommendations for the drivers and software settings?
- Which (in period) Games are suitable?
Building my own PCs since 1991 - for my retro builds it's "no CF-disks, no Floppy emulators, no modern cases etc.", only the real and authentic stuff whenever possible.
