So I've finished putting together a retro system that consists of the following:

Abit BH6 Mobo
Pentium 3 600Mhz
512MB RAM
Sparkle GF2 MX400 64MB - similar to the one in this listing (the bios chip may be different): https://www.ebay.com/itm/SPARKLE-NVIDIA-GEFOR … T-/174165430919
Aureal Vortex 2
SDcard to IDE adapter for HDD

In any event, everything for the most part runs well, but I noticed that 3DMark2000 hard crashes to desktop when it hits the 64MB Texture test, and I was just wondering if that would be expected behavior given that that's the actual size of the video ram? I expected it to be slow, but not actually crash out. I'm wondering if this might indicate I have some bad memory on the card or something and just haven't played anything else that manifests it as an issue. Is there any utility to actually test all of the video memory explicitly to make sure?

Because the memory stores more than textures some of that will spill out.
Try changing AGP settings.
