I have a Motorola Droid phone, given to me by my bro. I'm not much into the "smart" phone thing but the Droid is cool because it has lots of neato things like wifi, GPS, compass, PowerVR SGX 530, etc, etc. It's my new mini internet appliance basically.
Anyway, I've tried a bunch of 3D games on it. Quake 2 runs very well but it's impossible to control by touchscreen. The graphics performance of the PowerVR chip in it feels similar to a TNT2 maybe. It's hard to judge because it's probably CPU limited and it's also only running about 640x480. I also found a Hydro Thunder ripoff and a game that's sorta like Wipeout/Extreme G. Lots of nifty games on that Android marketplace.
That reminds me of how my old modded Xbox can run Quake 2 at 1280x720 with 4X MSAA. 😉 I bet you guys can't name too many real Xbox games that do that. 😁 It tends to lock up occasionally though, I think because it runs out of RAM. Shared 64MB doesn't go very far.
