Are the oldest two I can think of. Bear in mind though, the SGI uses OpenLDI (which hardly anyone used), and the T220 required 2x single link DVI... so in both cases you need special graphics hardware to run them.

Also check out the original Apple Cinema Display (1600x1024) a year after the SGI 1600SW which iirc uses only a single DVI.

Thanks. I found out IBM T220/T221's the 1st ever 4K 16:10 releasing in June 01'. I've seen a few 1999's Apple Cinema Displays on eBay currently. It seems to use a Single-link DVI-D though.

Notice however that 99%+ of the screens are the big 4 generic resolutions in non-wide aspects?
Notice further several have to be CRT not LCD.

There are only a small handful of screens with interesting resolutions in the 90’s one Compaq 1920x1200 which very interesting and likely very obscure and expensive in its era and about a dozen that had very strange resolutions that were meant primarily as a part of a HD video conferencing device.

As for 1680x1050 despite being lower than 1920x1200 was an afterthought resolution due to reusing TV production equipment. It really did launch in the mainstream with Apple unless we want to include screens primarily intended as TVs .

Similarly 2560x1600 was obsolete before it launched due to manufacturers standardizing to 16:9 to save tooling costs before any low cost mass market high end LCDs got entrenched.

That is the primary problem today, the unique resolutions that were once mid tier either don’t exist, use obsolete tooling/techor go high end because everyone wants mass production ready screens that use commodity tools to make commodity resolutions at commodity prices.

Do you still remember the name of that 1990's 1920x1200 HP Compaq LCD?

I want to obtain one 90' 1200p and one 90' 1440/1600p LCDs for PQ experiment.
