Well I know that Phil also uses the Steam version and his score is close to yours but with a little bit slower CPU, perhaps Phil uses a little bit faster memory?

The whole family of Geforce 6 cards are OK regardless when ever the actual card was released just as the whole ATI X800/X850 series.
If your 6800GS unlocks successfully to a full Geforce 6800 then note that with your score.

well if it unlocks correctly, I'm going to bios flash it to a BFG 6800GT OC, its a 6800GS OC currently, and the guy that sold it to me said it unlocks, AGP NV40 core.

Pentium M 755 2.0@2.72GHz, 544MHz FSB, 2GB DDR2-544 CL3, GeForce GTX 560 (275.33), i915, X-Fi Titanium, WinXP SP3

640x480 Medium: 151.2 fps
1024x768 Ultra: 145.3
1280x1024 Ultra: 145.5
1600x1200 Ultra: 144.8

I'm not sure why there's a 6 frame difference between 640x480 and 1024x768, but it's repeatable. Seems to be platform related, as the GTX 560 doesn't drop at 1024x768 with any of the other systems I've tested.

The Asus Commando P965 system with a Q9650@4.2 can keep up with the Nforce 780i with an equal CPU clocked at 4.4 GHz.

Q9650@4.2, Geforce 8800 GTX, 1024*768 Ultra.

If you combine that video card with your Northwood system you would be high up in the period correct list 😀

Well, I got a different setup in mind when it comes to the period correct top score. 😈

Is this CPU ok for the period correct list? http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Opteron% … 52BLWOF%29.html
It is 2005 hardware, however there are some San diego cores in the list (which is 05' CPU as well).

It was decided that all single core socket 754, 939 and socket 940 (not AM2) CPUs are period correct just because its too hard to identify which is which without a CPUID with every score since the same CPU models was released with different core revisions. Performance is almost the same for Clawhammer and San Diego (Troy) in Doom 3 anyhow.

But only up to 2.6 GHz as the 2.8 GHz FX57 wasnt released until 2005.

Well id rule out The San Diego and Venice cores, SSE3 would provide some optimizations for XP would it not if people are using SP3?

And well since my AXP is down, as well as my P4, I'm putting my x800XT into my AXP KT333 board to run a quick doom 3 🤣

Ooohhhh, now you're tempting me!

*Looks at his current P3 800EB/Asus CUSL2-C build and starts wondering ^^ *

Maybe I should get the P3 1GHz and GF4 Ti 4200 I have, throw them into the Asus board, install XP SP3, and do a Doom 3 timedemo - less than 1 fps anyone? 😁 🤣

EDIT - Better yet, leave the P3 800EB in place and grab my GF3 Ti 200 instead. That will do it! 😊

Ooohh, the pain......

When someone posts a socket 939 Athlon 4000+ I cant be bothered with making an investigation concerning core revisions. At least AMD did not add cache like Intel did. If a San Diego FX55 or A64 4000+ is OK then I think we can let a single "Troy" Opteron 252 pass as its exactly the same CPU as the San Diego FX55 only for socket 940 (and with SMP support). Its also worth to consider that we are only talking about 1 month late for the San Diego/Troy core revision (feb 2 2005).

A dual socket 940 system is also period correct but only single cores up to 2400 Mhz (Opteron 250) as you could not buy a dual 2600 MHz Opteron 252 system 2004.

Scores are updated.

Overclocked Correct Era

2148 Frames Rendered in 38.5 Seconds = 55.9FPS

Athlon XP 2800 @ 352FSB 2.2ghz, 1gb DDR352 2-2-2-5 1T, x800XT All In Wonder @ 540/1120, SoundBlaster Audigy Platnium ZX, Windows XP Home SP3, I'm thinking the Athlon XP is holding me back, I got to 55.7 just from the CPU OC, the GPU OC is barely doing anything, I think I have a bottleneck.
