Could be a really nice idea! makes it easier, my solution for now is a fat wire between 3.3V from PSU to the closest capacitor, whilst also massively increasing the capacity of it + adding a big fat ceramic cap inbetween 😀

Sadly this is the most I can do, if I increase GPU core / mem by even one single MHz it starts artifacting. No 5400 for me I guess 🙁

I have been thinking about one thing. Is it possible to use the BIOS chip from a ASUS p5a on a Gigabyte ga-5ax?
I have both at P5A and a ga-5ax. I have noticed that the ga-5ax can run higher bus speeds on then the p5a board, but it is slower. Could it be the BIOS?
Is the BIOS on a p5a better then the BIOS on the ga-5ax?

What do you guys think?

Earlier in the thread someone modded the gigabyte bios. Flip back a bit and check it out 😀

Thats an awe score! Can you raise the FSB? And is the 1024kb cache fully working on rev E chipset?

Thanks!

1. No, sadly any higher FSB and it becomes very unstable
2. Yes, it is fully working 😀

It does seem slow. Wonder why, your 3dmark 2000 should be close to 5000.

I also have a P5A board with a k6-3+ 400mhz cpu @616 (112x5.5)
I get 5K points in 3dmark 2000. I am using a Geforce2 Ti gpu.
I have used WPCREDIT to get a nice boost in the scores. I am using WPCRset to load the settings at the startup.

here is my settings

CsxrODR.jpg

I am also using CTU and a couple of other nice little programs to get some extra juice.

WPCRset valuas are typical for ALi boards?
What is CTU?

I really dont know. I guess some of the settings are. I copied some of the settings from another vogoners YT video.
The other settings are done by lots of hours trial and error.

CTU stands for central tweaking unit, and can be found at
https://www.philscomputerlab.com/k6-2-2-3-resources.html

I am using a couple of the tools found on that page.
