Ok well for my new P3 800 I'm going all in for a DX7 only build, and have a few options, but not really sure

Geforce 2 GTS (this likely would have actually been paired with a P3 800 realistically

Geforce 4 MX440 Faster than a GTS but far newer, P3 would have been a budget CPU when this came out

Radeon 7500 the fastest of the bunch but no table fog so DX3-5 games are a no go

So do i aim at 2000 and a midrange PC, 2002 budget PC, or go Radeon 7500 and except fastest DX7 but no DX5 features

Other than its triple texturing, not many applications made use of Ati's unique features in comparison to Nvidia's.
I'd pick the GTS over the MX, since there is a larger array of appropriate driver versions to play around with.

You can play EMBM games like Expendable on Radeon 7500.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

Pair a Voodoo 2/ SLI for DX5 and earlier with an AGP GeForce 2/ 3 or Radeon 7500/ 8500.

Voodoo 2 is currently out of my budget, but my athalon 700 has my voodoo 3 3000 for glide

I went with the GTS

NM using the 7500, the GTS died and won't post anymore, and the mx440 is 64bit sdram go OEM so 7500 it is

On any Radeon. One of the few cases where third TMU is probably used.
