I am consolidating my retro machines and trying to decide which video cards to put into the machines I am keeping.

One of the machines I am going to keep for Windows 98 is a Pentium 3 1.4 GHZ machine. Going to put my Voodoo2 SLI setup in it, but wanted to know which AGP Card would be better fit for it - GeForce4 Ti4600 or ATI Radeon 9700 Pro?

Want to be able to set games from 1997-2000/1 on highest settings if possible graphics wise.....or at least set them for best experience.....

ATI cards lacked support for table fog and 8 bit textures. The 9700 pro is faster and might let you run games with more filtering, but the 4600 ti is plenty overkill for 98.

As much of an R300 fanboy as I am, even I'd choose Ti4600 for a Win98 machine. 😀
