Hi!

So i wonder if there is a way to stop win98se desktop resolution from changing after a game gives black screen due to unsupported resolution.

For example i started Heavy metal fakk 2 and picked a resolution my new monitor for some reason does not support.

Screen becomes black (obviously) and i try ctrl alt delete and alt f4 to either restart the pc or force the game to shut down.

Normally in win10 this would stop the game and revert back to the desktop resolution and everything works.

But win98se changes the desktop res to the same unsupported one the game was in.

So now i need to connect another monitor (wich for my setup is a hassle) just to get back picture again.

Is there any way to prevent aplications from changing the desktop resolution?
Or force win98se to not change resolution?

Also is there a simple way to try out different resolutions so you can avoid the ones that are not supported?
