Never seen this kind of chip NCR before, does anyone have experience with it (performance etc). This is one up for sale on a local listing , and I might be bidding if it's a good one.

Seems a bit rare. Here is a PC Mag review which includes some card with the same chip:

Funny you mention this now because I have the exact same card. I've had it for a few years but am only now pulling it out for testing. It is the only NCR-based video card I own.

It is the Genoa Hornet (as described in the PC Magazine article).

It crashes NSSI.

I tested using Superscape and Doom, and it was faster than a Cirrus Logic VLB (Diamond Speedstar) and an S3 Virge VX PCI (STB Velocity) by about 10 percent.
