I have 2 ISA's from three machines I got earlier.

One is a Trident ISA 16-bit, based on the TVGA8900D-R (1994) from a Shuttle HOT-541 based Intel P120 system.

The other is a Realtek ISA 16-bit RTG3105E chip, from a TI486SLC system which I need to fix, as it doesn't boot (battery leakage caused damaged traces).

I have a Sanyo 8086 with CGA output, but sadly the monitor got lost and I have no convertor. The easiest solution would be to have an 8-bit ISA VGA card, but that's missing from the toolbox.

Is there any chance that one of these two cards can be flipped to 8-bit mode?

I see some jumpers on the recent Trident that point in this direction, but as ISA graphics cards are less my thing, I leave this to my more knowledgeable fellow Vogonians.

Trident cards will work in 8bit slot if jumpered right. There's some jumpers to close and one to open according to silkscreen.

Thanks Tiido, I switched the ones meant for 16bit, and the XT boots!

It displays perfectly clear:

1701
ROM BIOS Version 1.12
640Kb memory /CPU clock 8.00 MHz

Now on to restoring it to full glory.
