I found a guy selling one for $20 locally, I should be picking it up first thing tomorrow from him.

I've never used this model before, does anyone here have one? Do lower resolutions scale nicely considering it's a 4:3 screen?

If you have any experience with this screen please post.

Thanks!

it should have a good scaler being a 1600x1200 monitor, very nice for 800x600, the brightness and contrast shouldn't be an issue, but expect washed out black.

Considering its venerable age (17 years or so) and depending on how much use it got, it likely will have lost some brightness range . Also, capacitors will likely need replacing at some point (common issue).

I almost bought one back in the day, but had to settle for an inferior 204B due to lack of availability . AFAICR, the demo unit I saw looked fantastic .

Yeah the caps issue won't be a surprise, I am glad to hear the demo unit looked good!

Woohoo! Got the screen. Turns out the seller is in the process of moving into a new house and was just busy this morning.

No scratches or dead pixels that I can see, brightness seems alright, and overall seems nice and clean.

My workbench is overflowing with crap right now but eventually I'll get around to swapping out the old Lenovo 5:4 screen with this and do some real testing.

Why is the 204b inferior? In terms of specs it beats the 213T in every category.

204B is TN . 213T is a PVA variant, AFAICR . 204B was great (before mine's panel started degrading ) except for the restricted vertical viewing angle.

Did some playing around with the screen and my p3 600 tonight, hooked up with dvi it looks great on the desktop and for anything still but I guess I'm so used to modern screens that to me it seems blurry as hell when stuff is moving. I'm thinking the response time just isn't great. I'll try another graphics card tomorrow, it just has some random fx 5200 with dvi right now.
