Hi,

I'm looking to buy a few GPUs for a couple of different projects, but basically I want to build a couple decent retro gaming PCs (one for DOS games circa 1990-1995, the other would be for 1996-2001 games approx.)

Someone near me is selling a bunch of old GPUs but I'm having a hard time identifying most of them. Seller's not being that helpful either.

He's selling these for €3 each. Most of them seem pretty low-end, but are any of these worth buying?

Top: Riva TNT2 M64, ?, ?
Bottom: S3 Virge/DX, SIS 6326, ?

Top: S3 Trio 3d/2x, S3 Virge/DX
Middle: ?, ?
Bottom: Intel 740, Riva TNT2 M64

Top: ?, S3 Trio...?
Middle: ?, Radeon 9550/9600?
Bottom: Riva TNT?, ?

Top: Riva TNT2 M64
Bottom: Riva TNT2 M64, some Cirrus Logic card which I guess could be cool for a 486 system

Seems to be yet another Riva TNT2 M64 on the right?

Last picture with two boards, the left one is from a monitor's scaler to drive a LCD. Useless for you.

The sis 6326, could be 8MB what revision it is? H0? If H0, this is latest revision and is better performance.

2nd pic, I'd grab the top right S3 just for the RAM chips 🤣 though that one could turn out to be a bit of a performer for a Virge, so maybe a keeper. The two middle on that I would guess at a later Rage on the left, and an i740 on the right.

3rd Pic, I'd guess at an 8400GT for top left, which personally I'd find a use for, you might be right about 9550 middle right, which I'd also use, and the bottom right looks like an ATI-ish layout, did Asus do a Radeon 8500 ?

Edit: Asus card prolly an A9250GE methinks.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Thank you guys, that's really helpful. I think I'm gonna grab a few of these, maybe one of the FX5200s, the Radeon 9600XT, the Cirrus Logic card and a couple more.
