I don't mean to be rude, so please don't take it that way, but I'm not sure what you are asking? Which card is faster?

The Voodoo 3 claim to fame is Glide API. It can also do D3D as well though.

It is likely faster than a 16MB Vanta at both D3D and possibly OpenGL as well as a V3 wasn't a budget card and the Vanta was a cut down version of the TNT series,
but without knowing specifics of the games/benchmarks that you are referring to it is hard to say.

The Vanta is not a 3dfx card and can't do any Glide mode games. Not even with a wrapper as it isn't fast enough.

The Voodoo 3 can't do 32bit color in games, the Vanta probably supports it, but it isn't fast enough to use it.

In short the Vanta was not a premium product, the Voodoo was. Almost anyone would likely choose the Voodoo card over the nVidia.
