Hello Vogons people,

I have a Commodore 1084 monitor and yesterday after finally fixing my commodore PC-10 III it crapped out on me.
The high pitch noise it usually makes went even higher in pitch, the picture collapsed into a white line.
No pop sound, no funny smell, no smoke escaped.
I thought mmmh maybe something overheated so I turned it off, waited a while and turned it back on.
No picture, just a greenish phantom artifact in the middle of the screen.
Turned off and back on again, nothing appeared on the screen.
The high pitch noise the screen usually makes was now what I would describe as "periodically trying to start up"
Like a repeating frequency ramp.

Any Ideas what that could be?

Well vertical collapse once and nothing afterwards 😁
Any ideas on which components might be at play here?
I never got too involved with CRTs...
I fixed 2 before where the relay bypass resistor was loose or the mains solder connection was cracked, but those were pretty easy to find.
So while I wait couple of days for it to discharge and before opening it I'd like to gather as much intel as possible
