Hi again, this time with another S3-related question:
I was considering getting more than one graphics card, each for specialized (read: proprietary API) purposes, and one of the cards on my list was a ViRGE-series card, solely because they can run Screamer in hardware mode. Yeah, it's a sad fate for a graphics card when it can only be used to accelerate just one game, but I was also thinking of getting a CT6260 for the same thing. Anyways, I specifically wanted a GX/2, because I heard that it's the fastest ViRGE card-that people have encountered. I also heard talk of a GX/2+ variant, which is supposed to have a higher clock, but I don't think anybody's ever seen it. So I did some googling, and found both drivers for and the model number of the chip in question: 86c359. Does anybody have this card? Was it actually released? Is it really faster? Does it have more RAM? And if not, is it just possible to overclock a GX/2 and achieve the same effect?
