Hi guys

I'm trying to install a 6600GT on a PCIe Windows 98 build.

I've downloaded the 81.something drivers for Windows 98 for the 6600GT from the Nvidia website but when I run it, it can't find a relevant card to install. Checking the readme it only goes up to FX5800!

The card came with a driver disk which has a Windows 98 install folder but I think it's a very similar driver and also doesn't actually support the card in Windows 98!

Is there a Windows 98 driver for a PCIe 6600GT available?

Ryzen 3700X | 16GB 3600MHz RAM | AMD 6800XT | 2Tb NVME SSD | Windows 10
AMD DX2-80 | 16MB RAM | STB LIghtspeed 128 | AWE32 CT3910
I have a vacancy for a main Windows 98 PC

71.84 should support 6600 GT, for example. Also, if the installer can't detect your card properly, you can always install the driver directly drom the device manager.

Latest official Win9x drivers you can still find on NVIDIA's website (81.98): https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/11/en-us/ only support AGP versions of Geforce 6000 series in its INF file, not PCI-E variants!
Using modded 82.69 drivers will work fine: http://web.archive.org/web/20150602212418/htt … iles/NV8269.ZIP
