VOGONS

Setup: Asrock 775i65g r3.0, Pentium e5800, Nvidia Quadro4 380xgl, SBLive, 512mb ram, Win98 SE. System works fine without Voodoo.

I got a Diamon Monster 3d II 8MB Voodoo 2 off ebay. Windows detects a new device but won't load the drivers. I've tried 3 different reference driver versions as well as Fast Voodoo drivers but nothing works - always from a fresh install. It will show a Voodoo 2 in device manager but with no driver loaded. I get an error about no Voodoo 2 detected on startup. I've tried different PCI slots as well with only the Nvidia card installed. The passthrough works but that's it. Looking at the card, I can see some pins bent near the PCI slot:

Could this be the problem? If so, is it fixable or should I request a refund? I've never attempted anything like this before.

edit: After trying to mess with it, I think some of the pins aren't connected to the PCB so I'll have to return it.

Use a sharp blade and with no force you can try to bend them back.

Better pics of all the board.
Could be an easy fix but hq pics are necessary.

Probably the experts are sleeping, after that you'll be rolling fast 😀

Unfortunately my phone camera sucks so that's the best I could get. I tried with a safety pin but I think at least some of the pins aren't connected anymore. I'm just going to return it.

Maybe it can be repaired, wait a bit if you can.
Ppl will come.

Phone camera is enough, just not too small. Be inventive!

I think I already made it a bit worse with the little I tried 🤣. I think one of the pins isn't attached to the PCB and I don't have soldering equipment.
