HI, greetings i have a AGP S3 Trio 3D (NO 3D/2x)

My problem is in this card 320x240 mode work at 73hz no 60hz, for example in DOS if in a emulator, i select vesa1 or 2, 320x240 work at 73hz, but mode-x 320x240 is 60hz, same happen if i load scitech vesa, now vesa 1-3 320x240 modes are 60hz..... maybe because modex/SDD dont read resolution info directly from bios?

In windows 95 using S3 drivers happen same, 320x240 mode is at 73hz, but is not the driver, because i installed windows 2000, and using default microsoft s3 driver, happen same with 320x240 mode

My question is if someone have a AGP Trio 3D (no 3d/2x) to test, to know if is just my card, or all trio3d cards have same problem

thanks a lot

All S3 cards have "fixed" screen refresh rates for VESA video modes with resolutions lower than 640x480. The best you could do is to load UniVBE 6.7 (which supports the vanilla Trio3D without any patches or hacks) in DOS then use UniRefresh or VBEHz to set the refresh rate for 320x240.

VIA C3 Nehemiah 1.2A @ 1.46 GHz | ASUS P2-99 | 256 MB PC133 SDRAM | GeForce3 Ti 200 64 MB | Voodoo2 12 MB | SBLive! | AWE64 | SBPro2 | GUS

Hi thanks! yes univbe solve the problem in DOS, but sadly in win95 320x240 directdraw use bios refresh rate and unirefresh/vbehz did not work

I tried PowerStrip but sadly did not work for 320x240, just keep at 73hz

I was thinking maybe is possible to edit bios and change the value to 60hz? i dump my bios with NSSI https://www.navsoft.cz/products.htm
