OS: Windows 98 SE
RAM: 256MB
CPU: Pentium III
Audio: SBLive!

When I try and run from atlantis.exe located on the CD the game will start but sound will stop after a few seconds but music continues to play. If I start the game from C:\FATE\atlantis.exe or fate.exe the game crashes immediately. I've tried numerous updates and nothing seems to solve it.

Following Updates Tried:
fatecd.exe
indy4fix.exe

(I've been unable to find any descriptions for what update solves what problem.)

You can use this URL to find patch info in the Wayback Machine ( http://archive.org/ ):

Go back several years as the recent copies won't help you.

Ended up just running it on my Windows 95 Pentium II machine with AWE64 (CT4520). Always end up needing certain PCs for certain tasks.

Why not just simply use ScummVM?

This game is known to cause issues with PCI sound cards. ISA Sound Blaster is the way to go.
