X-com 2 CRASHES when research

This isn't the regular research tree bug.

My game runs fine most of the time, but when I tried to RESEARCH the AQUATOID MEDIC, the game crashes after I view the research results. Even if I try to skip the research results, it crashes.

ALSO
X-com Terror from the Deep apparently cannot be run on DOSBOX v .65.

I have a 1.5 Ghz comp with Toshiba video and sound cards built-in and windows XP

I've tried everything.
D-Fend.
Patches for X-com 2.
Messing with the code in DosBox
Different versions of X-com 2
More patches for X-com 2.
Compatibility in XP
X-com editing programs
Different combinations of patches for x-com 2

I still have to try the kitchen sink.

Someone please help!

In what way can't it run? What errors do you get?

That is a known TFTD bug, it has nothing to do with DOSBOX. To avoid it just never research aquatoid medic.
AFAIK the CE version of TFTD doesn't have that bug.
