Hi everyone,
I found this lovely forum at exactly the right time.

So what's the problem?
I want the perfect Carmageddon experience and I want to play it in multiplayer.

So I guess I have to get myself a nice old gaming rig to run the game in pure DOS 6.22 as I want:

-high-res
-steering wheel
-multiplayer

I'm currently thinking about getting the following:
-Pentium MMX 230MHz + 128MB RAM + 8GB HD
-2*Voodoo 2 SLI
-maybe a good soundcard like SB AWE 64?
-which network card?
-which steering wheel (Mad Catz Analog, Microsoft Sidewinder, Thrustmaster T1)?

If this works well I want to replicate the machine to play multiplayer games.

So the things that are giving me most headaches right now are which network card and which steering wheel to use with these old DOS titles? Any recommandations?
Furthermore, is the rest of the setup okay and could it be used to play Carmageddon 2 if the need would arise (priority lies on playing Carma1, but you never know..)?

I used to play both fine on my old Pentium II 450mhz. I also had 2 voodoo 2 SLI which are right now in my PowerMac G3 Blue and White (upgraded with a G4). However, Carma 1 plays kinda slow without hardware acceleration on anything less than a later P3 (even on my G4 Mac, which is running at 450mhz).

Carmageddon II played great on my old Pentium II 350 with 16MB TNT1 video.

I never got to play the original Carmageddon on that PC.

a friend of mine had IIRC a Pentium II 233 with a TNT2 Ultra, Carmageddon II ran fine on that as well.
