Hello, I'm new here and I have troubles starting the game balance of power 1990 version. When I try to start it as a DOS game it says that it is a windows game and Dosbox is unable to start it, however it still starts but it shuts down in a few seconds... The weird thing is now that, when i try to start it as a windows game it tells me that it were a DOS game -.- and I can't start it either.

Can you help me?

Sturm

It's a 16-bit Windows game, so if it doesn't come with a runtime version of Windows 2 or 3 then you'll have to install a full version of Windows 2 or 3 in DOSBox. It might run natively on modern 32-bit Windows with the NTVDM, but you probably can't run it natively on modern 64-bit Windows that lacks the NTVDM.

Right-Shift / Backslash Keyboard Problems (SOLVED!)

To summarize the solution in that thread: uninstall or otherwise disable the MCIR 109 keyboard device.

Yes I also saw this thread before but my problem is that I haven't gotten any MCIR 109 keyboard device.... so the solution doesn't work for me

If you read the linked thread you'll see that other people weren't sure where to find the driver, so I guess you're going to have to do some research for your version of Windows. There's a keyboard or IR device driver that needs to be forced to "HID compliant". Of course you might have some entirely different issue, but I haven't heard of any other causes of missing backslash.

Yes i already did that, I have chosen the Logitech HID-compliant unifying keyboard driver and tried every other driver but it still doesn't work.

And yes one of them had issues finding the driver but he said that he found it, without any description how he made that 😒
