Ok, I'm looking for substantial doom 1 and 2 THIRD PARTY AND OR CUSTOM WAD MAPS NOT ORIGINAL WADS in torrent form. Again, this is not a post looking for the original (and copyrighted) doom 1 and 2 WAD files, I'm strictly talking about third party WADS that have been out into a collection and available as torrent.

Doom isn't just a game, it's an apocalypse survival simulator.

Quick update on this 😁 I went and copied the entire doomworld ftp server, all 50k plus wads and I think I am set forever 😜 I run an update to catch new and incoming wads now and again.

Well I have a few of those third party compilation Map CDs from the 90's but I wouldn't want to upload it to a torrent. Nvm just read your update. 🤣

Check me out at Transcendental Airwaves on Youtube! Fast-food sucks!

As for the compalation discs I'd do it, because you might have the only copies of those wads because basically shovel ware manufactures had to fill a quota so they would snarf up random wads and files from bbs. So the only thing that was iffy about them was the fact that they originally sold them. I would love to have a copy of those if at all possible.

Those shovelwares only cover the 94-95 era typically with a high ratio of crap

Yes, but this is the crap that dosquest was looking for. Are there any WAD CDs that aren't full of crap?

If I'm not mistaken I have a 'Megadoom 3'-CD somewhere. (see Add-on collector). Drop me a line if you want a copy.

In case you're interested in two Doom maps made in 2012; I created a two mix levels based upon the original Doom levels. You can read about it here 😀.

I am interested in some of this stuff as well; I think I have a fair amount of WADs, categorized by year.. I think. I'll have to pull up my old archives to see what I have. Too bad we didn't have a FTP site where all of this content could be uploaded and shared by VOGONS members only... I've been thinking of making an FTP like that for quite some time... maybe now is the time to do it.

Ok, quick update on this. I found an excellent source for Doom wads. I just mirrored the entire Mancubus ftp. Then I downloaded all the shovelware discs on the internet archive, as for the other wads, I'm pretty sure I have all those plus duplicates. Since at the time of originally writing this post I had an internet cap, it wasn't feasible at the time to download 50gb of data. Thanks all who chimed in. I just now need to sort through and find out which wads need just vanilla/boom...I also compiled my own WAD disc, in the style of 1995-1997

Nice find -- I'm going to mirror that ftp as well and keep it on my server; I'm still highly considering purchasing an unlimited webspace package for vogons users to share files like these to then archive it so we can all enjoy. Supposed I should create a thread to see if there is interest.

Yay. Also, sorta off topic I just finished ripping a bunch of driver diskettes and cds.

Anything exciting? Going with that, I just scored a Gateway 2000 driver/OS set that I plan on using and ripping for vogons.
