Hi, recently i noticed that i've lost my old 3.5" floppy disk contains Dune (original media)
But of course i backup these game before on my dvdr.
Now my question is without original media i mean original floppy disk can i still have the game legaly? Or without media its no more original and have to buy new copy?
The internet is international, so I've no idea what your local law is.
That said, IF it is legal to have backups where you are, and IF they specifically don't mention the Lost Original problem, then it MIGHT be legal to retain the backup IF you have other proof of ownership of the missing original. Like the the receipt. But that's probably worthless, because that doesn't prove you didn't sell the missing original. So basically NO your backup is no longer a backup once your original is lost.
Or something like that.
