Updated Re: Old games that had CD Audio tracks? with contributions from Great Hierophant, NewRisingSun, Staticblast, MAZter, and willow (in order of posts). Thank you!

MusicallyInspired, the version of Star Wars - Dark Forces with CD-DA tracks was a rerelease edition having serial number 3064130 and barcode: 0 23272 30641 0, which included Jedi Knight(tm) Special Edition: 3 Playable Levels. (More details: http://redump.org/disc/42089/)

Couple additions:

"Incredible Machine, The - Version 3.0 (pre-emphasis)" is on the list. The first two games also have redbook. Even More is listed already, but 1 and 2 also had redbook, the latter being the same tunes as the 3.0, but possibly reverse panpot. I think 1 and Even More (effectively an expansion of 1) were released separately, I could be wrong. "The Incredible Toon Machine" is also a redbook game.

"Ys II Eternal" is listed. This came with Ys I when released on DVD, so I'm fairly sure they would both be redbook.

"The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain" has a redbook track that doesn't play in-game, but is listenable. Similarly, KQ6 and the King's Quest Collection/RWA all only have "Girl in the Tower" as redbook, nothing else, so that might be worth clarifying. 😀

I think I might be confusing a few platforms. The Incredible Machine 1 on PC CD is probably only the "Even More Incredible Machine" release, some other platforms released it as the original game, some released it as the expansion. Almost all had Redbook, but weren't PC.

Probably safer to remove that if you put it on the list, for now. 😀

I bet, those audio tracks are used for the Jedi Knight demo then.

StoneKeep

I think those two tracks are meant as a bonus. They are not used during gameplay as Stonekeep uses FM Synth / General MIDI for its music.

On topic, I think a clearer distinction needs to be made between the following:

1) This game uses CD audio tracks for music during gameplay
2) This game has a bonus CD audio track on the disc, but doesn't use it for music during gameplay

PC#1: Pentium MMX 166 / Soyo SY-5BT / S3 Trio64V+ / Voodoo1 / OPTi 82C930 / AWE64
PC#2: Celeron 466 / Abit ZM6 / Voodoo3 / AWE64 Gold / YMF744 / SC-155
PC#3: AthlonXP 1700+ / Abit KT7A / GeForce4 / SBLive / ALS100
PC#4: Athlon64 3700+ / DFI LanParty / 9600GT / X-Fi Titanium

PYST, a parody of MYST, had a track sung by John Goodman, who also starred in the game...

Since people like posting system specs:

Core i7 Sandy Bridge @ 3.6 ghz
4 GB of RAM in quad-channel
Geforce GTX 780
