How does one actually launch a mount disc? From what I have read is that you just need to type “D:” and press enter for it to go straight to the image. But all this does for me is skip a line.

What are you trying to do, exactly? Did you download a CD image from the Internet in the form of a BIN/CUE pair?

To be specific, the .BIN file is the actual image data, but the .CUE file contains the track layout and is also necessary. (It's just a text file that you can open in Notepad; if there aren't any CD-audio tracks, then usually it is pretty short.)

If you have a BIN/CUE image, then you either have to burn it to a CD, or mount it as a "virtual" drive. In DOSBox, you use the "imgmount" command; in Windows, you use a program like Virtual CloneDrive. In DOS, you can use SHSUCDHD, but note that it is fundamentally impossible to get CD audio from a mounted CD image in DOS.

This is all very well-documented all over the Internet.

Congratulations. You may enjoy 60 seconds guide to getting your game to run in DOSBox .

Also, in the future, please direct DOSBox questions to the DOSBox subforum. This part of the forum is for running games on real DOS.

Or if you're really just that impatient, just buy the game.
