You mean, a game that started with DOS version, followed by (or released simultaneously) a Windows version?

If so, I own both versions of:
SimCity (classic)
SimCity 2000
Quake
Fallout

Only have the DOS version:
Civilization
Colonization

Wing Commander Kilrathi Saga (Win95 ports of WC1 and 2, not sure about the 3rd game)
X-Wing: Collector Series
Maybe Monkey Island Madness (I remember trying this release and it was Windows versions of MI and MI2, but Mobygames says it's DOS).

Have Wizardry Gold as part of The Ultimate RPG Archives but never get a chance to play it. 😅

  • Warcraft II: Where the Battle.net Edition replaces the DOS executable with a Windows one.
  • The Need for Speed SE: It has both Windows and DOS versions on the same CD, but will only install one version depending whether the user is running DOS or Windows.
  • Tomb Raider: The version made for ATI video cards (TombATI) is a Windows executable.

I think he just means that the heavy interlacing of the FMVs in the Windows version of the game makes them look terrible.

Personally, I agree and greatly prefer the way they look in DOS.

PC#1: Pentium MMX 166 / Soyo SY-5BT / S3 Trio64V+ / Voodoo1 / OPTi 82C930 / AWE64
PC#2: Celeron 466 / Abit ZM6 / Voodoo3 / AWE64 Gold / YMF744 / SC-155
PC#3: AthlonXP 1700+ / Abit KT7A / GeForce4 / SBLive / ALS100
PC#4: Athlon64 3700+ / DFI LanParty / 9600GT / X-Fi Titanium

While we are talking C&C should be mentioned the released C&C Gold aka C&C95 as a separate product.

Other games that had both dos/windows version on the same install
Big Red Racing
Dungeon Keeper
GTA 1
Hexen

Yup I was referring to the interlacing. I never really understood why it was like that, I like to see my pixels, it makes me happy.

The Windows port's more directly of the SEGA CD version. The DOS EWJ games are more describable as VGA remakes.
