According to the below website, the original author of QPV (formerly QPEG) released the program as freeware and bumped the version number to 2.0 in 1997. The problem is, I can't find it anywhere for the life of me... Does anyone have it? Every site only has the last 1.7e shareware version, and the other problem is I can't find a working keygen/reg file either (I was a happy user of the cracked version back in the day... but no longer have those files). Thanks!

Latest version of QPV and QPNG was 1.7e from 1995, but in 1997 the author changed the license of the “full” QPV from shareware to freeware and bumped the version number to 2.00 , leaving little point to use the restricted QPNG version, except a marginally smaller EXE size.

Nevermind... QPV 1.7e can be found easily and that's in fact the liberated freeware version. I was using 1.7c by mistake which is not freeware and didn't realise... My bad, case closed 😀

False alarm... That's QPNG 1.7e which has always been freeware and can only open PNG files 😐
I'm surprised that it's impossible to find the freeware version of such an important image viewer... So yeah, I still need QPV 2.0.

That would be nice, I remember using QPEG once upon a time. I can't find this version 2.00 either though. https://toogam.com/software/archive/multimed/multimed.htm says "http://www.bttr-software.de/forum/board_entry … er&descasc=DESC indicates it might have been piracy" but I'm not really sure if that was what was indicated by those posts, I find that forum fairly unclear.
