Hi!

I installed Buried in Time today and it runs quite fine under WinXP (Comp Mode). The only problem is that many animations are off-center. I found a corresponding error description and solution here: http://presto.tommyyune.com/presto/journeyman … pport.html#PC14

As you can see, it tells me to modify the mci video for windows driver. Well... how can that be done? 😀

Or does anyone know another solution?

best regards

edit1: I temporarily by-passed the problem by playing on win95 on virtual pc, videos work fine there but overall performance is only about at 80%, so it's playable, but not fully fluent. So still, a solution for the offset video in winxp would be welcomed .)

it appears he missed out a few steps

open control panel
open sounds and audio devices
click hardware tab
highlight mciavi32.dll
click properties
click settings
make sure window + original size are selected

Thank you for that, but there is still a problem: mciavi32.dll is not listed there. Now that's strange for sure (the dll is in my system32 directory).

Maybe any thoughts on how I can get it there?

open system.ini

look for the following section

[mci]
MPEGVideo=mciqtz.drv
MPEGVideo2=mciqtz.drv
avivideo=mciavi32.dll
cdaudio=mcicda.dll
sequencer=mciseq.dll

make sure the mciavi32.dll line is there

ps: backup your system ini before you do anything
