Hello, I've been trying to play this 2002 obscure german RPG in many ways, but all the solutions only work partially.

When trying to play it on my Windows 7 64-bit, the game runs smoothly for most part, but it shows weird graphical glitches in indoor areas and in the battle arenas:

I tried to run it on a virtual Windows XP SP2 through Virtual Box, and it worked perfectly, but the frame rate was always at a unplayable 8-10 fps.

Finally, I found some old posts at the official forums saying that a virtual Windows XP made on VMware could properly run it. Tried it and it ran at a nice framerate and solved the indoor & arena issues of Win 7, BUT introduced a new one: now menus or any kind of on-screen message overlaps with previous content and kills the framerate to 4-5 fps. Even the start game menu is like this.

I'm out of ideas now, any suggestions?

Here are my specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Intel i7 920 2.67 GHz
6 GB RAM
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 2 GB
Updated drivers and all that.

Ok, no one ever replied this and there's no information on this anywhere else, but I've finally managed to get the game running perfectly on Windows 7 - by using DxWnd: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/

By using it the game works both on the adventure world and in the arena battles. Hope this helps people in the future.

Have you tried dgVoodoo2?
