EDIT: Works just fine on Vista x64. CubanRaul also updated his patch to v2.0, making the uploads on this post obsolete.

EDIT: UPDATED v3

First off, here's my specs so you know what I was working with.

Plextor DVDR PX-750A
nVidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ 1GB
Realtek AC'97
Windows XP Pro SP3

Here's the latest:

CubanRaul has released a v1.4 to his patch that includes automatic cpu slow-down.

CubanRaul's Page: http://home.comcast.net/~heavyweights/games/kain/index.htm

This will run CPU Grabber in the background. I think he modified it to actually work with Dual Core systems. This patch works beautifully.

If you don't want to run a CPU slow-down utility in the background there's another patch out there. You will need CubanRaul's v1.2 patch, and BO1Fix.exe patch made by VampMaster (additional credits go to Wrace).

All patches are included below. Make sure to use the correct combinations!

IIRC, it works in DosBox with Windows 95 as a guest. Been awhile since I tried it though.

I used Turbo about 3 years ago to get the game to work, haven't played with it since except when I tried it in DOSBox about a year or so ago.

How was the frame rate in DOSBox? I've had plenty of frustration with DOSBox on a select few games that I love dearly but still run rather slow...

And if you don't mind me asking, what system were you running it on?

Here's the thread:
Topic 17023

Tested on 12-2007 on a Dell Latitude D630 so probably a C2D 2ghz.

Gaming on 9x wasn't really that great back then in DosBox. I doubt it's changed much in the official DOSBox CVS. Possibly HAL 9000's version may be more stable.

There have been alot of patches created for 9x support in DOSBox but 9x isn't currently a focus of DOSBox development so as of now and for the future unofficial versions of DOSBox will have to be used.

Sorry, it's in the private forum.

It just showed pictures of Missionforce CyberStorm, Diablo, Starcraft, Sonic R and Blood Omen running in Windows 95 in DOSBox.
