Have you tried launch mission chaos1 with iwar launcher or with shortcut like this:
"D:\Gry\Symulatory\I-War\Independence War Deluxe\IWar.exe" -b -16 -800x600 -nologos "D:\Gry\Symulatory\I-War\Independence war deluxe\psg\resource\scripts\Missions\chaos1.scr"

game don't start...

It has been quite some time since I had the program installed, and unfortunately, I don't have any notes on what I did. You might be able to find an answer in one of these forums:

But can you play custom missions?
I've loaded mission chaos1 with help of i-War launcher, and nothing...I can't see briefing texts or mission objec5tive texts. Everything is correctly copied, and this make me very angry, when I can't detect, what's wrong...

I think, the problem is within Voodoo emulation... When I switch to software mode (under VMware/Win98) I can play this custom missions. Maybe XP is here guilty...

I have Independence War Deluxe Edition. I could never get it working though. As soon as I used a jumpgate in the tutorial portion it crashed.
