After a couple of testings I could confirm that the source of the massive slowdowns on DX 5 and 6 games is some alpha textures. If I force no alpha textures in International Rally Championship, it'll run smoothly (this disables smoke and headlights). I wonder if anyone is working on a fix for this, or could, with this information.
how about posting a bug to nVidia?
I've been doing that in the last 3 years, but nothing has been done so far. So I hope on 3rd parties now.

Well, sometimes, they say they forward the feedback to their team, but I wonder if they actually do.
yeah this guys been on the Nvidia forums for several years complaining about the issue, I think his threads reached over a thousand posts now and nothing has happened still.
