Perhaps try the free "Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe" version it installs fine for me on win7 x64.
Only problem is direct play is broken after Winxp so you cannot host but only join multiplayer.

Well the original version is actually a lot better than the deluxe version, so you shouldn't feel too bad
