First of all, thanks so much Sarah for developing such an awesome emulator for old computers.
Just wondering, anyone tried to use EMM386 with WfW 3.11? I used memmaker to optimize the memory usage, which loads EMM386 in config.sys, but after reboot Windows cannot start and prompts it cannot set an upper memory block at segment B000.

Thanks.

What mouse driver are you using?

QuteMouse v1.9 [FreeDOS]. The game has also errors with sound :
FMOPL.C: write to unknown register: 1f
FMOPL.C: write to unknown register: 1f
FMOPL.C: write to unknown register: 1e
FMOPL.C: write to unknown register: 1e
FMOPL.C: write to unknown register: 1d
FMOPL.C: write to unknown register: 1d

Can you reproduce it ?

That's not a bug in the emulator, but a (harmless) bug in the game, writing to non-existent OPL registers. Very common.

What parameters are being passed to EMM386?

EMM386.EXE NOEMS I=B000-B7FF WIN=B500-B7FF WIN=DC00-DFFF
Removing I=B000-B7FF can boot, but conventional memory usage increased significantly.

Hmm, those settings seem to work okay for me. What version of DOS are you using? What configuration in PCem?

SB16 error - PCem doesn't emulate the ASP/CSP on SB16 (it's an optional component, and isn't on most cards - including the SB16 Value PCem is trying to emulate) so a CSP detection error is entirely expected.

Likewise, if there are any datasheets you struggled to find but eventually found while working on PCem, would you mind sharing them?

I don't have that much I think, probably nothing that isn't easily available :
* Analog Devices AD1418K

Was this a typo? Not finding much on this.

Investigating Gravis GF1 datasheet perhaps. Acer Labs/ALi M1429G / M1431 / M1433 datasheet I can find a reference to in a patent, but that's it so far.

Somebody is able to get Civilization 1 to work with PCem 8.1 or its something with my configuration ?
I've tried different mouse drivers, microsoft, Logitech. they all cause emulator to hang with similar errors.

Hi,

I found that PCem seems can't mount a 1.2MB diskimage correctly.
I have a game "BATMAN : The Movie". There are 84 files.
Using "DIR" in DOSBox shows all the files and correct size.
But in PCem, the result is obviously wrong.
Attached are the screenshots of them.

coolhaken: That's weird. Probably a fairly minor bug. I'd be happy to look into it for you, just PM me with the info I would need to test out this particular disk image (if you know what I mean 😉)

ecksemmess, another (but very small) bug is the CD Track listing on PCem (and PCemFX) 8.1, but CD Audio songs play fine and regularly.

That's a cool fork. PCem with CRTFX is really something.

Was there any actual need to fork it, instead of just contributing back to the main emulator?

anyways, the bug I'm reporting against is that the CD Audio Track Time is a bit messed up on your main emulator, like when it is 00:00, pressing the play button, it starts at 05:44 (for example) instead of 00:01 and going on.

Still can't reproduce this I'm afraid. Might be a driver issue - maybe try with Windows configured for VGA and no sound and see if it works then?

I wonder if there is any plan to add network emulation or "new" computers (it's a shame that there are no emulator for IBM PS/1).
