im trying to get a serial port to work in dosbox.
I continue to get errors. within my dos software ive tryed selecting com 1 and com 2. both give errors ... cannot connect.
do I have to edit a file or something?

I found the section but need extra..
Do i have to manually hard code settings.. then its appended to the existing config file?
Can I get some quick advice to try to get the serial ports going?
As as start, it is simplest if you edit the default DOSBox configuration file.
