Well I have just 4 options:
1. Master or single drive
2. Drive is a slave
3. Master with a non-ATA-compactible slave
4. Enable cable select

I choose option 1 for my HDD. I can try 3rd option.

And I forgot BIOS detect that HDD automatically.

Could you please tell us what really it detects? Especially the reported size? Detecting and giving the name and brand correctly does not mean that it is being detected correctly. A socket 7 mobo with 8GB limit (yes, it is possible) was detecting my 20GB disks seemingly perfectly, without any glitch or error...with only one problem: it was thinking them as 8GB drives, and rendering them completely unusable to any software.

So according images it looks like I can’t use this HDD for install win. Bcse it’s 20GB. What if I’ll do partition for 6GB and rest will be unallocated space?

wow, that pentium board is bound by the 8.4gb limit. OUCH. As a bit of history lesson, hard drive sizes were limited at 540MB, 8.4gb, 32gb, 137gb, 2tb. You defiantly need to update the bios. it will ate LEAST let you go up to 32gb.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

The process hasn't changed, as long as you find the correct version. if you have done it on a modern computer this one will be no different. 95% of the time the bios file comes with detailed instructions anyway.

OK guy, Windows 95 is almost installed... I know I was PAIN IN THE ASS and THANK ALL OF YOU VERY MUCH FOR HELP!
Solution was some boot floppy disk B type and HDD formatted for 6GB.

There is no BIOS barrier at 32 GB – or at least, not a common one.

Buy on eBay Promise Ultra100 controller and disable the IDE on the board and you will have no issues and support for bigger HDD. Also promise SATA controller works on old systems.

Well, he could check this by just unplugging the hdd, if it detects a cd-rom drive afterwards.
As for the other commands, they do not work, since it didn't mounted the cd-rom drive.
If c has no valid file system the error messages are perfectly normal.
if a has no format or fdisk tool, the error messages are perfectly normal.

So according to your screenshots it seems to work fine.

I'd recommend to use a bootdisk with sys, format and fdisk, mscdex and a suitable cd-rom driver. Transfer ms-dos 7 from the disk to the hdd and mount the cd-rom drive.

Well everything what I found is some kind *.bin file and no instructions. From this web site http://motherboards.mbarron.net/models/pcchips/m519.htm

It's nice to hear that you solved your problem.

If you believe that you found the correct BIOS update, (i.e. the one which is latest available and specificly for your own mobo brand/model/version), just look instructions to update your BIOS brand (AMI, Award, etc.) from the net. There are really detailed and conprehensive how-to guides all around.

I can give you instructions about updating a 1995 AMI (I just updated a PCChips M560 a couple of days ago, for the same 8GB limit problem), but I'm quite rusty about other brands at the moment.

Didn't someone write a "universal" flashing utility at some point? I thought it was called AFLASH, but a Google search just brings up a bunch of links to Asus.

I believe it's half abondoned. And probably a little bir more risky when compared to BIOS brand (and era) specific flashers.

Copy Windows 95 CDROM contents (just "WIN95" directory is enough) to your HDD, and run "setup.exe".

That's all!... 😁

100%. I did it hundreds of times in the long past, about 4 times in the last two years... 😁

I always install my Windows OSs from HDD.

I ALWAYS install 95 and 98 from the hard drive. I copy everything to a directory labeled CABS (name doesn't matter), and install from there. That way I never have to dick around with the cd later if I change monitors or anything else trivial. I also tend to change the name of the windows directory (during install) to winblows, but that's something else entirely.
