I saw this on /r/reverseengineering yesterday, really cool!
It does sound a bit different from the real chip, the cymbals especially and it seems less noisy overall. Is this the 256x oversampling dac in action?

Thanks guys!

So my analog recording setup is a bit shit, resulting in a more muffled sound. The ZYBO only has a powered headphone output; my camera only has a microphone input. So it's pretty unbalanced.

The DAC actually has a line-out; I could haywire the output over the headphone jack, and then plug directly into the line in of my soundcard to get some better recordings. It's on my to-do list.

But the part of the design that I am most unsure of is the rhythm features of the chip, so the cymbal could be wrong. It is the least understood part of the chip, and I need to setup better testcases. It would also help if I had a real OPL3 to compare to; I've been using DOSBox so the accuracy of that is in question as well.
