How much video RAM does that emulated ATI video card have ?

800x600 in 32-bit color requires almost 2 Megabytes of video RAM , whereas 1024x768 in 32-bit color requires 3 Megabytes of video RAM .

That is a good start .

Now why are you using the ATI Video Xpression drivers ?

The ATI Video Xpression tops off at 2MB video RAM http://web.archive.org/web/19970404094223/htt … ics/videxp.html and uses a mach64 VT2 chip http://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/cpu/item/ … -ati-mach64-vt2 . Consequently drivers meant for that card model are likely limited to recognizing 2MB of video RAM at most .
EDIT : Also, apparently I misread, the Mach64 VT2 does exist in a 4MB variant . You should still used the Mach 64 GX driver if that is what PCEM emulates .

AFAIK, PCEM v15 emulates an ATI Graphics Pro Turbo with a Mach64 GX chip, which can have up to 4MB of RAM http://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/cpu/item/ … 7-ati-mach64-gx
IMHO, you should consider consider using drivers for that card model instead .

The drivers for Mach64 GX based products can be found here : https://web.archive.org/web/19991013022230/ht … mach64GXCT.html

Windows 98 SE includes drivers for the Rage Graphics Pro Turbo and they seem to work fine at 1024x768 in 32-bit , for example .
If you need drivers for an older Windows OS, the link I provided previously should have them .
