I guess the ultimate upgrade for this class of machine would be the X5698 CPU. Those aren't cheap though.

The one I’m looking at has a pair of x5690’s I believe.

Just don’t like the idea of paying $250 for a $50 tweener system that has a flakey ram slot

When 2 years ago a z840 could be had for about the same price
