That makes 4 Atari ST systems that I own now. I have another 1040 STe, a MEGA ST/4, and a 512ST but still no Falcon. I am still on the lookout for one in good shape and at a good price. They seem to be very elusive though.

I love the ST, still have my 520STFM from 1987 😀 You must play Starball for the ST if you haven't already, awesome PD pinball game, go on try it! 😀

After being double bid-sniped on a Diamond 3D Monster card, I've managed to get a PCI Creative 3DBlaster Voodoo2 for £4.24 plus £3 P&P. It's not coming with its original box (which I don't care about - this card is going in the HP Vectra system I showed before, not sat around looking pretty), but it should have its SLI cable, passthrough cable, and bundled software. Not sure if it's a 12 or 8 MB card (model number indicates that it may be the 12MB version - CT6670), but at this price, I don't care. Photos to follow when I have it.

OMG the 2020U is godlike! I love the monitors that do not have that freaking cable permanently attached so that once you wreck the cable you wreck the monitor... What's all the USB stuff about?

1800x1440 resolution as well on the Mitsubishi... absolutely awesome. The fact they eat 170W of power is amusing to me - that's only slightly less than my Xbox 360 and a Dell Optiplex GX270 I have!

Built in USB hub I believe. Check out the BNC connectors too. 😀

Yeah, it's almost as if the lights in my home dim a bit when I power up this thing.

In comparison to that, my LG IPS224V 22" HD LED monitor consumes 25W of power - or basically the same as an early 15" XGA TFT screen I had a while ago. That screen had a lot of character - didn't always switch on, occasionally messed up its colours, and was very hard to configure properly.

Won a SC55-ST in JP this weekend.

I've done some more tests with the Vaio PCG-FX601 using a copy of Knoppix that runs straight off the CD drive, and it runs as well as it looks. The keyboard seems perfect, the trackpad and mouse buttons work fine, the DVD drive runs fine in CD mode at least, and the battery gets to about 80% charge before the indicator light stops flashing. However, and this intrigues me, Knoppix indicates that it is still charging past that point (it's at 86.60% as I write this), but the rate of charge rapidly drops to about half of what it was normally, and then drops down a bit more slowly (at this point, it's 2040 mW, but still dropping). My guess is that it'll get to around 88-89% before it stops charging any further. Pretty impressive for a £4 untested system from the early 2000s, at any rate! I shall try this test with the Toshiba, and indeed the other laptops in the near future.

EDIT: Well, colour me shocked. It actually indicates that it has now reached 100% battery. Wow.
