Is anyone here using a 3DLabs Oxygen VX1 graphics card? Have you figured out how to make the card display jet black instead of a dull black? I know I've corrected this on one other card with a BIOS update. Anything for the VX1?

Not a helpful response.
Just didn't know that VX1 models have such problems, since they were supposed to be pro-summer grade material.
I have several Oxygens, but they are all GVX1 and later models - work as advertised.

Sounds like bad decoupling, resulting in the black level rising

Well, the same issue happens with the 3DLabs Permedia2. Perhaps it is deliberate.

VX1 are basically fancy Permedias (cannot remember from the top of my head were they v2 or v3 based).
Probably that's why VX1 inherits some "features".

It's Permedia 3.
