Try this mini setup for DOS. It needs at least 4MB memory module installed and then run ews64s.bat to initialize it.

isn't the card capable of general midi without memory? card already has 2 megabytes on board.

When I tested similar card (Maxi Sound 64) it had to have additional memory installed. Maybe the sound font was too large to fit into 2MB. Can't say for sure. But it wouldn't do any GM sound otherwise. No idea why but I'm not a PC sound expert... I was just happy it worked 😀

It uses standard 72-pin memory. So it's not something rare...

I can test my card, but only later tonight or tomorrow.

After trial and error I made (with help of VogonsWiki) "quick and dirty" DOS mini setup for EWS64S and EWS64XL cards. So I'm glad it actually works outside of my setup 😉

For being a seller I never understood it like I should also offer support. This old hardware is pretty specific and if someone is willing to buy one, he should already know something about it. I don't mind helping out, but sometimes even an expert can't figure out some weird setup and you get back perfectly good card as defective because the end user can't configure the computer resources correctly and he won't even try to troubleshot the problem.
