Are there simple instructions for getting that WUMT up and running? I've never heard of this before.

I got myself a slipstreamed XP SP3+. It wasn't easy: VirtualBox 6.0 and 6.1 keep crashing randomly for some reason and WSUS 3.0 (on Windows Server 2003) had the hardest time synchronizing.

The synchronization errors aren't new if Google is to be believed, but I had to try many times before it would go. Other times it would fail with a HTTP error about that the connection was forcibly closed. I had the idea that installing KB4039929 helped things a bit but it could be a placebo effect.

Also no idea if it was Microsoft's servers closing the connection or my local IIS that's serving WSUS, because of course the error message doesn't tell you. "HTTP error: good luck!" would've been just as informative.

At least I got everything now, also for Windows Embedded (should be the POS 2009 stuff, I think) and Windows 2000.

Windows update is up again for Windows XP.

to get SHA2 support in in XP, you have to install KB968730, which is not in windows update. But if it will resolve problem you have, I dont know.

the KB968730 patches for XP & Server 2003 only update the crypt32.dll file.
newer crypt32.dll files are included in the KB2808679 & KB2868626 updates for XP & Server 2003 so these two updates supersede/replace KB968730

edit - I also read something here in this MS technet forum thread that KB2868626 also has some SHA-2 support

I lost my Autopatcher XP archive a few years ago it had all post sp3 update patches.
I am surprised, unlike autopatcher 98se 2007 theres no xp version available with the patches included if I had known I'd have posted it for everyone.
Be damned if i knew where to get it. Does anyone know? of have a cache?
I'll even post it for you if you don't wanna its just I want us to have the best experience on our dino windaz 🤣

I used WSUS offline earlier this year for a Win7 build but grabbed a offline copy for WinXP while I was at it. Not that I bother patching XP anymore but never know when it might need it.
You can also include Office patches if you want, 9.2.1 is the last version to support XP.

Thanks mate didn't know that existed!

managed to slipstream myself xp cdroms with update packs from https://ryanvm.net/forum/
Seems to catch up to all offline updaters very little to update without POS updates. (POS not compatible with pentium III)
There is also windows 2000 and newer systems as well and worth the effort to install a fresh copy without ages of patching later.
Its English Orientated so I guess thats the best audience for it.

So soon everyone may need to run corporate edition if they can't activate?

Still, I miss my Autopatcher xp official online it had some cool things about it.

Also every popular driver for xp ever made and latest version here: http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/latest

I found my autopatcher cache i think it went on to 2008 so there isn't much use in that after sp3 theres a plethora of stuff they updated after autopatcher closed its doors by microsoft maybe I0 build a script for its installer engine myself for it.
but still little things like powertoys such as science calc in it stuff that gave a more deluxe set of tools as well I think I'll cache them on archive dot org that not many people realise what was given for free back in XP supported days.

Better yet, use Autopatcher to download everything and then slipstream it onto an SP3 CD using nLite.

ETA: Reading the forums, it looks like Autopatcher XP hasn't been updated since 2016, when a whole bunch of updates were removed. 🙁
http://www.autopatcher.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1167

there are still offline baseline cache installers floating around and updates with patches bundled.
I just scanned this today its cool to run from tits host site. Its a 2007 baseline 300meg autopatcher offline cache.

For all the long forgotten patches I suppose but after SP3 theres little bother my prior post shows where to go for a fully updated secure xp install and they talk about slipstreaming pos updates on the forum it saves hours of patching i'm just gonna pluck out the luxuries from the autopatcher modules.
